Girl Refuses to Leave Park Bench – Dad Installs Camera And Sees This…
Simon loved his daughter, Mia, more than anyone else in the world. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for her, but in recent days, something strange was going on with the young girl. The concerned father was sick with worry. It all started after a seemingly ordinary visit to the park by their house. Since that day, the girl refused to leave the park bench. He had no idea what was happening, but the truth was far more sinister than he ever imagined.
Going to the park was a lovely little tradition between Simon and his young daughter. They had visited the park almost every weekend for the past two years. But one day, Mia was suddenly overcome with defiance. She refused to leave the park bench and go home, and Simon had no idea why. One day, the concerned father had a brilliant idea; he was going to get to the bottom of this no matter what.
The day Simon set up the security camera, he was confident he would solve the mystery. Mia was an intelligent little girl, and he knew more was happening than meets the eye. He waited patiently for the day to pass. When they went to the park, he pretended that everything was fine, but as soon as they showed up, Mia headed straight for the bench with a lunch bag. He watched as his daughter stared into the woods behind the park. Like every other day, she was just sitting there waiting for something or someone.
Simon knew he’d have to be patient if he wanted to get to the bottom of the matter. He sat with his daughter for what felt like hours before he finally got up from the park bench, ready to go home.
“Sweetie.”
Her eyes instantly grew sad. “No, we have to wait,” Mia responded, clutching the lunch bag to her chest.
Simon couldn’t understand what was going on, but he knew that in a few hours, he would have the answers to all these questions. “It’s getting dark out, honey. You can leave the lunch on the bench again if you want,” he said. It was the only way to get her to go home.
Mia huffed and mumbled something to herself. For a brief moment, he thought he heard his daughter say, “Where is he?” but he wasn’t sure. The little girl placed her lunch bag on the bench and quickly walked around to join her dad’s side. But as they began walking off, the girl peeked over her shoulder and waved at something or someone.
She had done that every time they left the park, and this concerned Simon. Was there someone in the woods watching his daughter each time she went to the park? It sure seemed like it. That evening, Simon sat in his office silently observing the security camera footage. He sat staring for half an hour before he saw movement. Just then, he realized what was going on. His blood ran cold.
Living in Boise, Idaho, Simon Tywell always knew that he was meant to be a dad. When he met the woman of his dreams at just twenty-five years old, he knew they would have a bright future together. Her name was Angela, and she was a beautiful and intelligent young woman. Simon told her everything.
“One day I want to have at least three kids,” he told her, and she felt the exact same way.
The day Angela agreed to marry him was one of the happiest of his life. They immediately left the bustling city and moved to the suburbs where they could raise their children someday. Their wedding was small and special. They decided to only invite close friends and family.
“I can’t wait to start a family with you,” Simon told Angela during their first dance as a married couple.
As soon as the pair returned from their honeymoon, they began trying for a baby together. Simon and Angela found the perfect little neighborhood to raise a family. Their house had a large backyard with plenty of room for a jungle gym, but there was more. Right across the street was a large park with beautiful, lush woods behind it.
“Imagine, we can play with the kids in the park and go for hikes in the woods,” Angela said.
If only they’d known what hid behind those tall, lush trees. Exactly two months after they began trying for a baby, Angela gave her husband the life-changing news.
“I’m pregnant!” she yelled as she burst through their front door.
She had just returned from a doctor’s appointment, and Simon couldn’t believe the wonderful news he’d heard. He’d heard horror stories of couples trying for years before they finally fell pregnant. For the next nine months, Simon went to every single doctor’s appointment with his wife. They were expecting a little girl, and they already knew that her name would be Mia.
The day Mia was welcomed into the world was the happiest day of Simon and Angela’s lives. That day, Simon made a promise to protect his daughter at all costs. But he had no idea that trouble was just around the corner. The first seven years of Mia’s life went by in the blink of an eye. The little girl had her mother’s beautiful blonde hair and her father’s light blue eyes. During this time, Angela discovered she was pregnant with her second child.
Angela’s second pregnancy was taking its toll on her, so Simon decided to take care of Mia all by himself until the baby was born. For the last few years, Angela and Simon took their daughter to the park across the road at least once a week, but now Simon was doing it all on his own.
One day, something strange happened. When Mia asked her father if she could go to the park with a few neighborhood friends, he thought everything would be fine. He watched her leave the house, not knowing that she would never be the same again.
Mia was in the park with her friends. Simon peeked out of the kitchen window every half hour to ensure his daughter’s safety. From afar, everything seemed normal; Mia was just playing with her friends. But that evening, when Mia walked through the front door, Simon instantly noticed the worry behind her bright blue eyes.
“Are you okay, honey?” he asked, his heart dropping when she nodded her head sadly.
He instantly assumed the little girl had had some kind of fight with her friends or something.
“Daddy, can we go to the park again tomorrow? I want to take some lunch with us,” Mia questioned, her voice laced with sadness.
Simon simply nodded. He didn’t want to ask too many questions; it was clear that Mia didn’t want to talk about it. The following day at around 3:00 p.m., the little girl approached her father, her eyes still holding that same sadness from before.
“Is everything okay, Mia? You seem awfully sad,” Simon asked, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder.
“I’m okay, Dad, but we have to go to the park now,” she said, holding a lunch bag in front of her.
Simon complied; he’d do anything to see her happy. But soon, the day would take a bizarre turn. Simon and Mia walked and headed toward the park as usual. Simon expected his daughter to play in the sandpit or on the jungle gym when they got there, but as soon as they arrived, she did something she’d never done before.
As soon as they reached the park, Mia walked towards a gray bench and took a seat, staring ahead of herself. Simon thought this was strange, but he had no idea how bad it truly was. As the minutes turned into hours, Mia remained on the bench, staring into the woods like she was waiting for something or someone to show up. But no one ever showed. Eventually, Simon decided it was time to go home.
“Come on, it’s getting dark out. It’s dinner time,” Simon said, slightly confused as he got up from the bench. But Mia didn’t move. “Mia, come on, honey.”
He sat waiting for his daughter, but she ignored him. He frowned and slowly took a step closer to the girl. That’s when she finally turned to look at her father.
“But he hasn’t come to get his lunch,” Mia said.
Simon was beyond baffled by those words, but after a moment of thought, he came up with a reasonable explanation. Simon assumed the little girl had her first imaginary friend, but the truth was far worse.
“You can leave the lunch on the bench for him. He’ll find it,” he decided to go along with it, desperate to get home.
Finally, Mia agreed and left the lunch on the bench. But as they walked away, he noticed his daughter waving at something or someone behind them. This sent a shiver down Simon’s spine. What was going on?
At first, Simon didn’t think much of it, but when the same thing happened every single day for the rest of that week, he realized that something strange was at play. He had to know what was going on. It was driving him mad. One afternoon, while Simon sat in his home office, he couldn’t stop thinking about the matter. Something was happening to his daughter, and he wanted answers.
That afternoon, Simon brainstormed until he thought about the perfect solution. He had to install a camera in their driveway that looked over the yard and into the park. It was the only way to see who his daughter had been communicating with. The second he thought of this solution, Simon left the house to get his plan into action. But he had no idea what he would find the very next day.
The next day, when Simon took his daughter to the park, he couldn’t wait to get back to his office and see who or what emerged from the woods once they left. Something had been troubling his daughter for quite some time, and he was going to get to the bottom of this.
Just like every other day, Mia waved as they left the park. She had done that every time they left, which concerned Simon. Was there someone in the woods watching his daughter each time she went there? It sure seemed like it.
But that evening, Simon sat in his office silently observing the footage. He sat staring for half an hour before he saw movement. Just then, he realized what was going on, and his blood ran cold. As Simon sat in front of his laptop, he noticed movement from the woods. A second later, he saw an unfamiliar face from behind the trees as a man slowly walked into the park and toward the bench.
Simon watched with wide eyes as the individual grabbed the lunch from the bench and began eating it. Who on earth was this old man, and how did his daughter get in contact with him? Simon’s heart was racing as he left his office and approached the living room where his daughter was watching a show.
“Mia!” he called her name. She looked up at her father, confused. “Who’s the man in the woods that you’ve been giving food to?”
He demanded an answer, his palms sweaty. He couldn’t help but wonder if the man was some kind of freak. Had he been speaking to his daughter when she was alone in the park? A chill ran down his spine. Mia seemed confused by the panic in her father’s eyes.
“He’s Mr. Johnson. He lives in the woods by the park. My friends saw him under the tree the other day and we asked him what he was doing. He said he lived under the tree.”
Simon was confused by his daughter’s explanation. Something about the story made him feel weird and emotional.
“He told us he didn’t have food and it made me sad, so I’ve been making him lunch.”
Mia shrugged like it was the most normal thing on earth. Simon was at a loss for words. He couldn’t believe how generous his little girl was. That night, Simon and Mia spoke at length about the old man. Simon decided that they could take him lunch every day, but Mia wasn’t allowed to go without her father.
It was that night that Simon was certain that he and Angela had been raising their daughter right. He couldn’t be more proud of his little girl, and in the end, everything was okay.
